Freestyle Writing 4/28/11

Freestyle Writing 4/28/11

Looking back at past memories, I realize that there are many things in my life that I should be grateful for. From having great Christmases with my family, to simply having a family. There are so many people in the world that aren’t fortunate enough to have a loving family. Every night my family gets together to eat dinner. Although this isn’t a huge deal, it is one of those little things that not many people get to experience. This is something that I definitely take for granted. Family is a big part of most of our lives, and we should all recognize that.

Paragraph 1 Essay #13

Essay #13

In my eyes, love is a word that I don’t understand beyond my family. Because of my limited experience, when I think of true love, I think of my parents. As a teenager  I am just beginning to understand the subject of  love, but still have lots to learn.
True love is something that is often has a rare occurrence. When true love occurs it’s extraordinary. Sometimes people think that they are falling in love with someone when they really aren't. I think that when I "fall" in love, all my peers will be able to tell. True love doesn't happen instantaneously. A couple will usually have to work hard, and build their relationship from the ground up; I think this is how true love will happen for me. True love can happen when you least expect it. True love is an amazing thing, and everybody should have the chance to experience it.
One couple I know that is definitely in true love is my parents. The first thing I think of when true love is brought up is my mother and father. My Mom and Dad have had their hard times, just like most couples. In the end true love brought them back together.  In any relationship there will always be times of anger. If the couple truly cares for each other, true love will bring them back together. I truly believe this is what happened to my parents just last year.
Love is truly an amazing thing, and I definitely understand that.  My life has had a great example of what true love can really do. The best gift my parents ever gave to me was getting back together, and I will always recognize how they cherish one another.
Self-Assessment:
What I Did Well: One thing I thing I think I did well was my conclusion. For some reason this conclusion seemed to click for me.
One thing I can work on:  Something that I definitely could have worked on is my first body paragraph. For some reason, I had a very hard time getting my thoughts onto paper.
Grade I Deserve:  I think I deserve a B- for this essay. There are a few problems that could be polished more, but I think i did well.

Essay 12

Mr. Salsich
                                                                        My Best Friends
An essay about my two best friends.

Friendship is something that human beings can’t live without. At times I felt like I had no friends, but the people I am about to describe were always there for me when I needed them to be. They were always there when most of my other friends weren’t.
When it comes to friends in life, they were never a problem for me. One Friend that I have always recognized is my dad. My dad has always been there for me when I need him. My father and I have a great relationship together, and I definitely recognize that. When I think of my relationship with my dad, I think of a tree. As I grow older the tree between my father and I becomes bigger and bigger. Every day I discover a new branch on the tree, and on that branch are endless memories with my father. Another good friend I have is Daniel D’Amato. My relationship with Dan is like a never-ending movie. As soon as you think the movie is almost over, something amazing happens. Throughout my life I have had many great friends, but none like these two that I have just described.
The friendship I share with these two people is like no other. I have had amazing memories with Daniel and my Dad, doing things that you just can’t imagine. From driving through blocked off roads because of extreme flooding with my Dad, to hiding in the bushes with Dan, while playing airsoft. These two people are not only friends, but more like family.

                                                        Self Assessment

1. One strong point i see in this essay us my conclusion. I was very specific in my conclusion. I did as Mr. Salsich said, and wasn't vauge.

2. A weak point in this essay one week point in this esay is my interoduction. I had a hard time puting my thoughts on to paper while writing this introduction, and I am not satisfied with whati ended up with.

Essay 11, Body Paragraphs

Throughout a person’s childhood, he or she will have many different stages.  As a teenager, one will most likely encounter many problems, which is normal. One problem I see today with many teenagers is having fun. There is definitely nothing wrong with having fun, but sometimes, we tend to have too much fun. Being a teenager myself I know one thing I struggle with a lot is greed. Many teenagers, especially in the United States, are wealthy because of their parent’s hard work. Most of us get what we want, but don’t realize all the hard work that was put into buying us these products. The last problem that I believe most teenagers have is a misunderstanding of what love really means. Teenagers often tell there boyfriend or girlfriend they, “love” each other only after a few days in the relationship. Most of us don’t really know what love means, and that is a problem for lots of teenagers.  Teenagers have many problems now a days -- from being greedy to not knowing when we are “in love”-- and sometimes I think some of us don’t even realize it.
Most people think being a teenager is easy, and compared to being an adult, it probably is easy. Although my, “Job” is school I tend to stress out on things outside of school. One problem I have in my life as a teenager is activity. I do so many things outside of school like -- flying, racing cars, video games, etc. -- that I have the tendency to get off track in school. One problem that I used to face in the past as a teenager was my two sisters. I know this sounds wrong, but my sisters used to pick on me so much I just could stand it. Now that they are away at boarding school, they don’t bother me too much anymore, but I’m sure it will start again when I go to the same school as my sister for 9th grade! Even though I become very stressed and distracted at times because of things outside of school, I know that I am very lucky to be doing these things in the first place.
