Growing Up
An Essay on Life Growing Up
Growing up for me took place on Montauk Avenue in Stonington Connecticut. I had lots of fun growing up but I was serious when I needed to be. Having a barn and big field across the street from my house really intrigued me to spend lots of time there riding my dirt bike and having fun. Although I had a blast riding my dirt bike there was always time for work with my dad at Garbo Lobster.
Slowly becoming an adult should be something that you cherish for your whole life, something that you will never forget. Having moments that I learn from, moments that I keep stored in my heart are extremely important to me as I grow up. “Strive to learn as much as possible” is something my dad once said to me, “Learn from your mistakes.” For example, don’t worry so much about that one bad grade you got, work harder and learn from it. In To Kill A Mockingbird I think that Atticus needed to teach Jem and Scout all of the things that he knew, such as shooting a rifle. Shooting isn’t a life skill that you need to know but I think that Atticus should have taught them how to shoot instead of their uncle. Maybe this means Atticus is too strict. Growing up is important, and you will remember it for the rest of your life that's why you should make the best of it while you can. The moments with your friends, the most enjoyable times in your life are parts of your childhood. That's why childhood is an extremely important time in your life.
It doesn't matter where you grow up or who you grow up with, your childhood is something you will always remember. You will remember the bad times, but you will also remember the good, and when you
eventually become an adult you will have some great stories to tell. Maybe to even tell your own kids during
their own childhood.
