Assessment Project
(TS) When I first entered Apple Rehab I was very nervous. (SD) The first thing I did when I got into the building was ask the organizer how I could assist. (CM) Right away she mentioned Frank. (CM) Frank is a man with Aspberger's Syndrome, and has a hard time speaking fluently. (SD) Talking to Frank was definitely a challenge, but got much easier as we went on. (CM) We talked about all kinds of things ranging from sports to history class. (CM) In the end it turns out that Frank and I have lots in common. (SD) Being patient is something that I really struggle with. (CM) I think that doing this assessment project with someone that I need to be patient with will really help me become more patient. (CM) Frank and I have already started to learn about each other’s interests, and over the course of my volunteering, I think we will grow to have a great relationship with each other. (CS) Leaving Apple Rehab was definitely much easier than entering, and I feel great that I got off to a good start meeting someone that I can definitely relate to.
